The La Specialista grinder will work at optimal performance if kept clean. The regularity of cleaning will vary depending on how often you use it and the type of bean you use. When you look inside the beans container and see that the grinder burr has residual coffee obstructing then it is time for cleaning. The way to do this is to empty the bean container of all beans, remove the bean container from the machine, use a vacuum to clean out any beans residue from the opening, and then turn the ring counter clockwise to the \'remove\' position and take out the burr.
Use a small brush to clean the coffee residue off the burr.
