Add one scoop of ground coffee through the funnel then select the pre-ground option to make the coffee. When you add the ground coffee the machine must be turned on, if you add the coffee powder while the machine is switched off it will spread through the machine and dirty it. This could damage the appliance. Only add one scoop of ground coffee per beverage.
