The Maestosa water tank does not work by sensing the recipe it makes (that would be incredibly difficult!) but when the water is at a specified level.

When there is 160ml of water left in the tank an alert will come up on the display to say that it will need refilling. This is where the continuous refill segment of the water tank comes in. The machine will still work until empty, but offers a prompt when you are close to finishing the tank.
